Our History
Fred Gorove and Lou Slade founded Gorove Slade as a firm specialized in transportation planning and traffic engineering in 1979. The company has grown from a single office in Washington, DC to several offices in Virginia and Maryland. For more than 45 years, Gorove Slade has continued to provide clients with best-in-class transportation services and local expertise.
Our Approach
Drawing from our knowledge of the unique transportation characteristics of each land-use, we identify opportunities for our clients to improve their plans by recommending safe, efficient, and attractive linkages to all transportation networks, by helping reduce the need for and cost of parking, and by identifying programs that encourage people to walk, bike, and use public transportation.
Industry Leadership
Gorove Slade proudly participates in several organizations that help further our industry and the development community at large at the national level and in our local chapters. Our team is active in Urban Land Institute (ULI) NAIOP, NVBIA & DCBIA, American Planning Association, the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and other professional organizations where we leverage our expertise to serve on technical panels and public working groups.
