Katie Wagner, PE, PTOE
Principal
Katie Wagner is a Principal at Gorove Slade and leads the firm’s Maryland office. She is a transportation engineer with extensive experience in multimodal planning, traffic operations, and development entitlement support across Maryland and the greater Washington, DC region. Katie works closely with private developers, institutions, and public agencies to deliver transportation strategies that support vibrant, walkable, and transit-oriented communities.
Her project experience spans a wide range of land uses, including mixed-use developments, educational and institutional campuses, commercial centers, and government facilities. Katie’s expertise includes transportation impact studies, site access and circulation planning, functional parking and loading design, and Transportation Demand Management (TDM). She is also deeply involved in policy and regulatory work, having contributed to Montgomery County’s 2025–2050 Strategic Plan and the 2024–2028 Growth and Infrastructure Policy update as a private-sector advisor.
Katie is committed to improving transportation systems that serve all users—motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, and transit riders—while streamlining review processes that support responsible development. She is a licensed Professional Engineer and an active member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), Urban Land Institute (ULI), CREW DC, NAIOP MD|DC, and MBIA. She was recognized with the 2022 CREW DC Champion Award and Chapter Member of the Year honors from both NAIOP and MBIA for her leadership in transportation and development policy.
Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Katie lives in Bethesda, Maryland, and enjoys exploring the region with her husband and their hound dog, Maya.
