Maria joined Gorove Slade in 2020 bringing with her prior experience in structural engineering. She has experience in project entitlement, parking studies, transportation and parking management plans, design work – including pavement markings and signage plans, truck maneuvering, and conceptual roadway design plans – throughout Alexandria, Arlington, and DC. As a student she participated in the ITE Student Leadership Summit and attended TRB in 2019 and 2020.
Outside of work, Maria loves going to the movies, spending time with family, and walking her three dogs. She also enjoys sports and plays tennis regularly.

Sam leads Gorove Slade’s design team for the DC and Bethesda offices. Working primarily out of Bethesda, Sam has multiple years of experience working in both private and public sector transportation design projects. Sam has expertise in traffic signal design, roadway signing and striping plans, traffic control/maintenance of traffic plans, curbside management, loading analysis, pedestrian & bicycle facility design, and functional parking design.
Sam’s market focus is Washington, DC, Arlington County, Fairfax County, the City of Alexandria, and the entire state of Maryland. Sam and his team manage the firm’s permitting practice, which also operates across multiple jurisdictions. He is a member of Associated Builders and Contractors of Metro Washington, working to expand the firm’s footprint across a new set of clients.
Sam is a northern Virginia native and resides in Friendship Heights with his wife and daughter. Prior to his career as a transportation engineer, he served in the United States Army Infantry. He remains active in several veteran organizations. Sam is a bike commuter, and outside of work he enjoys running, soccer, and a crippling addiction to Peloton. An avid DC sports fan, when he’s not at the arena or stadiums, he can usually be found wandering around northwest DC with his dogs, Rocket and Groot.

Mike is a Principal based out of our Richmond office with 14 years of combined experience in the private and public sectors. He handles a wide range of traffic and transportation projects, including Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA), traffic signal warrant analysis, traffic signal design, corridor signal timing plans and Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans. He has worked for private, public, and institutional clients across the Southeast. His market practice area includes nearly all of Virginia – including the Richmond, Fredericksburg, Charlottesville, Roanoke / Blacksburg, and Hampton Roads metro areas. Mike is responsible for business development, project execution and client coordination. Mike is an active member of the Virginia Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (VASITE) and the Greater Richmond Association for Commercial Real Estate (GRACRE).
A native of Chesapeake, Virginia, Mike is an alum of Old Dominion University. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and horticulture. He is most at home attending live music with his wife, and spending time outside gardening with his kids and dogs. Mike is also involved with his local church, and the Parent Teacher Organization of his daughter’s school.

Rob is a transportation engineer working out of Gorove Slade’s Richmond office. He has two years of experience primarily focused on traffic analysis, signal design, and traffic management plans (TMPs). His technical skill set includes Synchro, SimTraffic, and Microstation. He has an EIT designation, IMSA Traffic Signal Field Technician (Level 1) Certification, and a VDOT Advanced Work Zone certification. Rob is interested in intelligent infrastructure, sustainable development, and renewable energy.
In his free time, he enjoys hiking, going to concerts, and playing guitar and bass.

Omran is an experienced transportation engineer and designer with experience in Fairfax County, Loudoun County, Prince William County, Bristol District, Staunton District Virginia; Montgomery County, Maryland; and Washington, DC. He has over 9 years of design experience, specializing in serving the public sector with working knowledge of VDOT, SHA, MCDOT and DDOT. He has led a wide range of urban, sub-urban, rural and interstate projects. Omran’s experience includes design of traffic signal design, maintenance of traffic plans, signing and pavement marking plans, bike/pedestrian improvement plans, guardrail design, concept roadway planning, and cost estimating. Omran works out of the Fairfax, VA office but lends his expertise to design projects throughout all of Virginia, Maryland, and DC. He is a member of the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE).
Outside of the office, he most enjoys spending time with his wife and kids. He is a Fairfax County native and enjoys serving at his church, playing basketball, eating Thai food, playing golf, watching all sports, and meeting new people. Omran is known as an unofficial tv show/movie critic and he often shares recommendations with his colleagues!

Victor joined Gorove Slade in 2023 as a Project Transportation Designer. He has previous experience providing civil engineering services to land development projects in Loudoun, Fairfax, and Prince William Counties. He has worked on private and public developments, residential, commercial, mixed-use, data centers, and roadway projects.
Outside of work, Victor is passionate about traveling, fitness, and cooking

Kat joined Gorove Slade with six years of transportation and roadway design experience, specializing in intersection reconstruction and ADA-compliant design. Since joining the firm’s Washington, DC office nearly two years ago, she has broadened her technical expertise across a wide range of project types. Her work includes traffic signal design, roadway signing and striping plans, traffic control/maintenance of traffic plans, curbside management, loading analysis, and streetlight design and photometric analysis. Kat enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop solutions that improve safety, accessibility, and the overall user experience of transportation networks.
Kat is an active member of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Metro Washington and WTS-DC. She is especially passionate about expanding opportunities for young women in STEM fields and supporting their retention and growth throughout their careers.
Originally from Rochester, NY, Kat spent five years in Minneapolis, MN before settling on the east coast in Arlington, VA. Outside of work, she plays semi-professional ultimate frisbee with the DC Shadow, coaches several youth ultimate teams, and enjoys spending time outdoors, whether hiking, biking, or exploring nature around the region.

Michael joined Gorove Slade with six years of roadway design, transportation, and drainage experience with particular focus on corridor modeling and profile design. In his role, he worked primarily in Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William County on VDOT projects. Michael has experience with urban, sub-urban, rural, and interstate projects, developing roundabout concept sketches, roadway widening plans, ADA bus stop redesign, water quality and quantity analysis, and VDOT cost estimation packages.
Originally from Annapolis, MD, Michael has resided in Arlington, VA, since graduation. In college, he played left wing on the ice hockey team and continues to play weekly in an adult league. Michael also enjoys his weekly run club, skiing, playing instruments, and working on his car, or anything else that should break.
