Shashwat joined Gorove Slade in 2021, where he specializes in traffic impact analysis reports, signal justification reports, design waivers, AM-E requests, and traffic operations within Prince William County and the Piedmont region. His technical proficiency encompasses tools such as Synchro, SimTraffic, Vistro, ArcGIS, HCS, and AutoCAD. Additionally, he contributes to projects in Fairfax and Loudoun counties. Shashwat is an active member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers.

Originally from India, he finds joy in various activities including working out, hiking, reading, watching cricket, and listening to classic rock. He is currently mastering the guitar and keyboard. Shashwat values the diversity and rich culture fostered within Gorove Slade.

Victor joined Gorove Slade in 2023 as a Project Transportation Designer. He has previous experience providing civil engineering services to land development projects in Loudoun, Fairfax, and Prince William Counties. He has worked on private and public developments, residential, commercial, mixed-use, data centers, and roadway projects.

Outside of work, Victor is passionate about traveling, fitness, and cooking

Lauren is based in our Bethesda office, working mainly on projects in Prince George’s County. She is a recent University of Virginia graduate (wahoowa!), bringing a strong knowledge of core urban planning concepts and her experience working on mobility planning. Lauren works on traffic impact studies, data analysis, and more throughout Maryland.

Lauren has a passion for urban planning and how transportation relates to and affects social and economic factors in people’s lives. On her days off, she enjoys roller skating, starting (and not finishing) all kinds of creative projects, and spending time outdoors.

Maribel works on projects in the District and Maryland out of the Washington, DC office. She has significant transportation engineering experience, including traffic impact studies, traffic simulation, site access and circulation planning, parking demand studies, loading dock analysis, field data collection and analysis, Transportation Demand Management (TDM) planning and analysis. Maribel’s project experience covers the full spectrum of land-use.

Outside of the office, Maribel spends most of her time taking care of her dog Dobby. She also enjoys yoga, rock climbing, and baking. She even brings her homemade vegan baked goods into the office to share with her coworkers!

Omran is an experienced transportation engineer and designer with experience in Fairfax County, Loudoun County, Prince William County, Bristol District, Staunton District Virginia; Montgomery County, Maryland; and Washington, DC. He has over 9 years of design experience, specializing in serving the public sector with working knowledge of VDOT, SHA, MCDOT and DDOT. He has led a wide range of urban, sub-urban, rural and interstate projects. Omran’s experience includes design of traffic signal design, maintenance of traffic plans, signing and pavement marking plans, bike/pedestrian improvement plans, guardrail design, concept roadway planning, and cost estimating. Omran works out of the Fairfax, VA office but lends his expertise to design projects throughout all of Virginia, Maryland, and DC. He is a member of the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE).

Outside of the office, he most enjoys spending time with his wife and kids. He is a Fairfax County native and enjoys serving at his church, playing basketball, eating Thai food, playing golf, watching all sports, and meeting new people. Omran is known as an unofficial tv show/movie critic and he often shares recommendations with his colleagues!

Ramie joined Gorove Slade in May 2023 and works primarily on the Fairfax County team. His typical scope of work includes transportation impact studies for rezoning applications and site-specific plan amendments, transportation demand management plans, parking management plans, warrants, signal justification reports, and several more. His areas of specialty include pedestrian and bicycle elements such as pedestrian level of comfort and bicycle level of traffic stress.

Ramie likes to play soccer, run with his track club, and travel.

Ben joined Gorove Slade in 2023 with 2 years of experience and sits in the Washington, DC office. He works on signal plans, traffic control plans, pavement marking and signing plans, and transportation/parking management plans for development projects throughout the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. He has a special passion for active transportation.

A Montgomery County native and former Northern Virginia resident, Ben now lives in Park View, DC. When he is not working, he is probably riding his bike, gardening, or playing tennis. He also enjoys standup comedy and all trivia events. He is on a quest to get to the highest point of every state and has been to 29 so far!

Anushree has completed projects for public and private sector clients for over ten years. Her experience includes all facets of traffic engineering and transportation planning – traffic and simulation analysis for intersection studies and corridor studies, signal justification reports, roundabout analysis, speed studies, signal optimization, data collection, and crosswalk studies. Anushree primarily works on projects in Loudoun County but has experience in traffic engineering studies for projects in Fairfax County and Prince William County as well.

Anushree is also a certified Pastry Chef and loves hosting and decorating for parties, traveling with her family, yoga and playing badminton.

Sreekanth joined Gorove Slade in 2021, working out of the Fairfax office. He works on TIAs, scoping documents, parking studies, and traffic simulations on Prince William County and Fairfax County projects. He is interested in microsimulation, optimization, and big data analysis. Sreekanth completed and defended a thesis on signal coordination from NCSU titled “Multi-Cycle Semi-Actuated Signal Coordination.”

He was a national-level swimmer for India and continues to swim in his free time. In addition to swimming, Sreekanth enjoys watching live sports. He has enjoyed Gorove Slade’s trivia nights and office potluck lunches.

Blake is based in the DC office and has two years of experience at various transportation engineering consulting firms. He works on traffic engineering and transportation planning projects in the District of Columbia and Northern Virginia. Blake is skilled with analysis software such as Synchro, and his work experience includes traffic impact studies, transportation modeling, site access and circulation evaluations, transportation demand management, traffic calming design, and bicycle master planning. Blake is a member of the Young Professionals in Transportation (YPT).

Blake has lived in Chicago and Atlanta but is now happily settled in DC. Blake enjoys exploring DC’s various neighborhoods and volunteers with Mt. Pleasant’s Lantern Walk. He enjoys playing board games, collecting hats, and going to festivals.

Jake is a transportation professional with over five years of experience in multi-modal transportation planning and engineering. His background includes experience in transit planning, multi-modal corridor studies, campus transit planning, traffic impact studies, parking studies, transit center plans, and station access plans. Jake has been involved with various types of clients, including transit agencies, planning organizations, private developers, and city and county governments. Jake takes an interest in using data to inform our understanding of transportation challenges and finding ways to present technical information to diverse audiences.

A Northern Virginia native, Jake relocated back to the DC Area after working in California for five years. Before joining Gorove Slade in 2021, Jake spent six months traveling around US national parks, visiting 22 parks across 21 states. Outside of the office he enjoys reading, hiking, playing soccer, watching RuPaul’s Drag Race, and cheering on his USC Trojans.

I recently joined Gorove Slade as a new grad from the University of Kentucky and I currently have almost 1 year of experience as a transportation engineer. In my first few months here, I worked in the Fairfax County and Prince William County markets. Currently, I work in the Alexandria office serving the City of Alexandria and Arlington County markets. I have worked on a variety of projects which include Traffic Impact Studies, Multimodal Transportation Assessments, Turn Lane Warrants, DCSM waivers, Signal Justification reports, Access Management exceptions and Transportation Demand Management plans. I have also done scoping for a variety of projects here in the Northern Virginia area. I am skilled in analysis software such as Synchro and Vistro, and also in ArcGIS.

Outside of the office, I enjoy hanging out with my friends and exploring the DC area as I have recently just moved to the area. I also enjoy watching limited tv series and reading books from time to time.

Ariel is a project manager in the Fairfax office and her work is concentrated in Fairfax County and the Cities and Towns within. She has experience with traffic engineering and transportation planning concepts, including transportation impact studies, traffic modeling, design waiver and AM-E requests, signal justification reports, parking adjustments, and Transportation Demand Management (TDM) services. She has worked on a variety of projects including high density, mixed-use, and multi-modal developments.

Originally from Maryland, Ariel is now a Virginia resident with her cats Tippy and Mo. Outside of work she enjoys gymnastics and going to concerts.

Tracy is a Project Manager and transportation engineer with 8 years of experience in the private and public sectors, working on various residential, commercial, and municipal projects. She is experienced with a wide range of transportation engineering needs, including traffic impact studies (with analysis in Synchro and Simtraffic), speed studies, traffic calming evaluations, signal warrants, and turn lane warrants. She began her transportation engineering career with Gorove Slade in the DC office and now works out of the Richmond office, with a focus on the growing Hampton Roads market.

Tracy resides in Norfolk, VA, with her fellow Hokie husband and toddler son. She is a 3-time Ironman triathlon finisher and enjoys living and training on the Elizabeth River Trail! She and her family enjoy live music, rock climbing, and spending summer days at the beach.

Sumedh is a Project Transportation Engineer in the Fairfax office with 3 years of experience working on traffic impact studies, transportation due diligence reports, signal justification reports, and access management assessments, amongst other transportation engineering assignments in Northern Virginia. He is involved in Young Professionals in Transportation, ASCE, ITE, and TRB and finds it enriching to have the latest know-how on anything and everything transportation.

Sumedh is an avid runner, with his favorite running spots being the Fairfax County Parkway and W&OD trail, which are close to his home. Being a budding guitar player, Sumedh is generally a fan of every type of music with the electric guitar – some of his favorite groups are Pink Floyd, Eagles, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Sumedh also likes to cheer on the Boilermakers and the Aggies.

Mike works on projects for Gorove Slade from the Alexandria, VA office and his work is concentrated in Alexandria and Arlington County. He has skills in Synchro and AutoCAD and enjoys working on traffic impact analyses and signalized intersection designs. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Outside of the office, Mike enjoys reading comic books and is involved in rec league sports.

Aedan joined Gorove Slade in 2024 and works out of the Alexandria office. Aedan specializes in multimodal transportation assessments, VISSIM modelling, traffic impact analysis reports, and traffic operations within Arlington County and the City of Alexandria. His technical background encompasses both analysis and design, being proficient in VISSIM, Synchro, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, HCS, AutoTurn, traffic signal design, and estimating. With prior experience in Hampton Roads, he has contributed to projects across all of Virginia.

Originally from Virginia Beach, Aedan enjoys going to the beach, riding his bikes, playing sports, reading, and learning more about the world. He is a proud Virginia Tech alum and enjoys watching sports almost as much as playing them.

Sasha works out of the Alexandria office on projects throughout Northern Virginia and in DC. She has experience working on mixed-use developments, office developments, multi-family residential developments, commercial and retail developments, and K-12 schools. She specializes in multimodal transportation impact studies, traffic analysis (Synchro and SimTraffic), big data, parking demand studies, shared parking analysis, and school studies.

Sasha loves spending time with her dog Sonic (who makes guest appearances on team calls). A Hokies fan year round, she especially follows college football and basketball seasons.

Portia is based in the Fairfax office and graduated with a master’s degree in civil engineering. She primarily serves the Loudoun County market and does traffic impact analyses.

Portia is an engineer in training and a current member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and going for walks.

Mary joined Gorove Slade with 8 years of experience working on a wide range of traffic and transportation projects for private and public sector clients throughout the United States. She is experienced in completing transportation impact studies, interchange studies, design waiver and AM-E requests, signal justification reports, corridor studies, alternative intersection control evaluations, multiway stop analyses, signal timings plans, and parking & circulation studies. She is also experienced with traffic modeling and simulation using Synchro, Sidra, SimTraffic, and Transmodeler.

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, checking out local festivals, kayaking, board games, and any activity that includes a free t-shirt.

Erin is based in the DC office and primarily serves the DC and Northern Virginia markets. With three years of experience in transportation engineering and planning projects, her work includes campus master planning, traffic impact analysis, and multimodal transportation studies. Erin is skilled in ArcGIS and has a strong passion for geospatial data science and visualizations.

Outside of work, Erin enjoys spending time at home relaxing on her couch watching reality shows. She balances her homebody lifestyle with a love for weight training and aims to achieve the goal of doing 10 pull-ups in a row one day!

Jason, based in our Fairfax office, has 3 years of experience in the Transportation Industry which includes 2 years as a Roadway Design Engineer and 1 year in Traffic Analysis. Primarily serving Prince William County and the Piedmont region, Jason works on traffic impact studies and various other traffic related items. He enjoys music, food, and conversing with colleagues about new food and restaurants they’ve tried!

Anila joined Gorove Slade in 2021 working out of the Bethesda office. Her project work includes transportation impact studies, campus transportation planning, parking demand analysis, parking management plans, and scoping documents on projects in DC, Arlington, Alexandria, and Maryland. She has experience working with Synchro, VISSIM, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and AutoTurn.

Anila was born in India and now lives in Maryland. She loves reading mythology books, playing badminton, and binge-watching television shows.

Adam has more than 5 years of transportation consulting experience. He leads Gorove Slade’s transportation modeling group – contributing to and leading projects throughout the D.C. metro area. Adam is based out of the Alexandria office and his experience includes many facets of transportation engineering and planning including multimodal traffic operational analysis in VISSIM and Synchro, traffic impact studies, master planning, traffic forecasting, and safety analysis.

Adam has been actively involved with ITE since his time as a student. Since then, he served on committees at the section, district, and international levels, and was selected to be a member of the 2024 class of LeadershipITE. As a member of the Chesapeake and Potomac Section of ITE (CAPSITE), he assists on the STEM and Simulation and Capacity (SimCap) committees.

As somewhat of a native to the D.C. region, Adam enjoys acting as tour guide to visitors and exploring the area to find hidden gems. He is a regular at trivia nights, board game hangouts, and the occasional awards show watch party. On a nice day, you may find him running or hiking a local trail with his husband and dog. On a not so nice day, Adam is probably playing a city builder video game.

Ashley has nine years of experience working on transportation design, analysis, and planning projects and is based in the Washington, DC, office. After starting her career working on large-scale roadway design projects, Ashley has taken these experiences and transferred her knowledge of practical design and technical concepts to the world of traffic studies and simulation, transportation impact studies, signing and pavement marking design, site access and circulation planning, and parking planning. She is passionate about helping to create public spaces that are safe, accessible, and enjoyable for all modes of travel.

Ashley is an active Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) member and is the Chesapeake and Potomac Section of ITE’s Social Media Chair. She also heads the ITE Transportation Planning Council’s Multimodal TIA Case Studies Working Group.

Ashley, a resident of Alexandria, Virginia, loves to explore the DMV by foot, bicycle, bus, and Metro with her family. She enjoys snuggling up with a good book and a cup of coffee, traveling and exploring new cities, and spending time in the great outdoors.

Rob is a transportation engineer working out of Gorove Slade’s Richmond office. He has two years of experience primarily focused on traffic analysis, signal design, and traffic management plans (TMPs). His technical skill set includes Synchro, SimTraffic, and Microstation. He has an EIT designation, IMSA Traffic Signal Field Technician (Level 1) Certification, and a VDOT Advanced Work Zone certification. Rob is interested in intelligent infrastructure, sustainable development, and renewable energy.

In his free time, he enjoys hiking, going to concerts, and playing guitar and bass.

Maria joined Gorove Slade in 2020 bringing with her prior experience in structural engineering. She has experience in project entitlement, parking studies, transportation and parking management plans, design work – including pavement markings and signage plans, truck maneuvering, and conceptual roadway design plans – throughout Alexandria, Arlington, and DC. As a student she participated in the ITE Student Leadership Summit and attended TRB in 2019 and 2020.

Outside of work, Maria loves going to the movies, spending time with family, and walking her three dogs. She also enjoys sports and plays tennis regularly.

David works on projects across Virginia for Gorove Slade from the Richmond, VA, office. David has experience with traffic engineering and is skilled with analysis software such as Sidra, VISTRO, Synchro, and SimTraffic. His work experience includes traffic impact studies, signal justification reports, parking studies, and AM-E requests.

David is a Fairfax County native but now lives in the Richmond area. He enjoys spending time with his fiancé, going on walks, and online gaming in his free time.

Pankaj is an associate and project engineer with extensive experience working in all counties in the Northern Virginia region. With approximately 4 years of experience at Gorove Slade and over a year at VDOT’s Research Council, he has a diverse background in completing projects for both public and private sector clients. His expertise spans all aspects of traffic engineering and transportation planning, including traffic impact studies, traffic modeling and simulation, interchange access reports, roundabout analysis, crosswalk studies, speed studies, signal optimization, waiver/exception requests, traffic operations, and probe data visualization and analysis. Pankaj is highly proficient in utilizing traffic analysis software such as Synchro, SimTraffic, PTV VISSIM, Sidra, PTV Vistro, and AutoCAD. Additionally, he possesses a strong understanding of VDOT traffic analysis guidelines, TOSAM, and the various requirements of NOVA district jurisdictions.

Lauren is a Senior Engineer in the Fairfax office, and her work is concentrated in Fairfax County and the surrounding towns and cities. She has experience with traffic engineering and transportation planning concepts, including transportation impact studies, traffic modeling, design waiver and access management exception requests, parking studies, and Transportation Demand Management (TDM) services. She has been involved with various projects, including large mixed-use developments, transit-oriented developments, and multimodal projects throughout Fairfax County.

Lauren is a native of Northern Virginia and a proud Virginia Tech alum. Outside the office, she enjoys trying new restaurants, going on walks, and listening to Taylor Swift.

Sam, who works primarily out of our Bethesda office, has over 13 years of experience working in public and private sector traffic and transportation projects. Sam is a Senior Project Manager and leads the design team for the DC, Bethesda, and Alexandria offices. Sam has expertise in traffic signal design, roadway signing and striping plans, traffic control/maintenance of traffic plans, curbside management, loading analysis, field data collection and functional parking lot and garage design. His market practice areas include the District of Columbia; Arlington County and the City of Alexandria in Virginia; and all of Maryland. Sam also has significant experience working on a wide variety of VDOT projects throughout Virginia.

Sam is a member of the Society of Military Engineers and prior to his career as a transportation engineer, he served in the United States Army Infantry. He remains active in several veteran organizations.

Sam is a northern Virginia native and resides in Friendship Heights with his wife and daughter. Sam is a bike commuter and outside of work he is an avid runner, soccer player, and an enthusiastic DC sports fan. He can usually be found wandering around AU Park with his dogs, Rocket and Groot.

Sushant Tiwari is a Project Engineer & Project Planner in the Richmond office. He has experience with traffic impact analysis, traffic modeling, signal warrants, turn lanes warrants, parking studies, and signal design. His technical skill set includes Synchro, Simtraffic, Microstation, AutoCAD, PTV vistro, Revit, Navisworks, Q-GIS, ArcGIS, GAMS, Python, MatLAB, and R-Studio. He has EIT designation. Sushant is interested in the application of an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) to optimize complex and deep transportation problems using machine learning, deep learning, image processing, and visualization.

In his free time, he loves to play and watch soccer. Additionally, he loves to read books and cook and enjoys hiking.

Walker joined Gorove Slade in 2024 as a Transportation Planner in the DC office. He is a recent Virginia Tech graduate and plans to start his graduate studies in Urban and Regional Planning in their DC campus. He brought two years of experience surrounding the micro-mobility and community development aspect of transportation planning and engineering. He currently works on transportation studies, field data collection and analyses, and other transportation projects in the DC area. Walker is also a member of the DC Chapter of Young Professionals in Transportation.

Walker is interested in how transportation can be designed to connect communities equitably and efficiently. In his free time, Walker enjoys playing volleyball, golf, and listening to new podcasts while biking around Northern Virginia and DC.

Salem is a recent Virginia Tech graduate and Northern Virginia native working out of the DC office. She has a year of experience working on multimodal transportation studies, field data collection and analyses, and traffic demand analyses throughout DC as well as parts of Maryland and Northern Virginia. She is a member of the DC Chapter of Young Professionals in Transportation.

Salem’s interests lie in the socioeconomic and environmental benefits of multimodal transportation planning and engineering. Outside of work, you can find her curating playlists, walking around DC, and buying books she forgets to read.
