Project Transportation Engineer
Portia is a project transportation engineer based in the Fairfax office. She holds a master’s degree in civil engineering from Arizona State University and serves clients in the Loudoun County market, addressing their transportation needs through data-driven analysis and strategic solutions.
In her role, Portia specializes in traffic impact analyses, operational studies, and applying industry-standard methodologies to evaluate transportation systems. She utilizes Synchro, Sidra, and Vistro software to analyze traffic flow, capacity, and multimodal interactions. She also prepares transportation studies, parking demand analyses, and intersection performance evaluations to support development and infrastructure projects. Additionally, Portia has expertise in traffic signal timings for new traffic signals and signal modifications, ensuring optimal intersection performance and improved traffic operations. She works closely with signal design plans to develop signal timing submissions for VDOT review and approval.
Portia is an Engineer in Training (EIT) and an active member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, going for walks, going on road trips, and listening to music.
