Dan has spent most of his career at Gorove Slade. After starting as a Transportation Engineer with the company almost 25 years ago, he quickly worked his way to Project Manager, Director of Engineering for the DC office, and then Principal. Today as a Vice President and Senior Principal, Dan’s role is to oversee the company’s marketing team, mentor the next generation of Principals, and support strategic efforts that foster company growth. He does this by leveraging his diverse project experience, robust professional network, and keen interest to see those in his orbit succeed.

Over his years of experience Dan has worked for public, private and institutional clients throughout the United States and internationally, on a variety of land uses and master plans. His primary geographic market focus most recently has been projects in the District of Columbia, Arlington County and the City of Alexandria. Dan has always been drawn to the urban context where creating human-scale and walkability are a priority. He appreciates the conversation that happens around our projects in those areas and knowing that everyone sees themselves as a transportation “expert” keeps it fun.

Dan is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, the DC Building Industry Association, NAIOP Northern Virginia, Lamba Alpha International GW Chapter, and the Institute of Transportation Engineers. He has hosted webinars, assisted in the classroom, and actively seeks to mentor those in the industry and give back to the community.

He is a West Virginia native, adopted Panamanian by marriage, and calls Alexandria home today. He and his wife met in the Dual Degree Engineering program at Washington University in St. Louis. They have two children and an American Bulldog. They love spending time together as a family enjoying all the rich amenities of the DC area and traveling abroad to discover new places when they get the opportunity.

Erwin has over 30 years of experience working on a wide range of traffic and transportation projects serving private sector, public sector, institutional, and federal agency clients in the metropolitan Washington, DC area. His experience has been geared to serve the strategic development needs of private developers, address local jurisdictional approval requirements for federal agency clients, and develop sound transportation operational and management plans for institutional clients. He has testified as an expert witness before public zoning boards and commissions locally in the District of Columbia, Montgomery County, and Prince George’s County, as well as in various jurisdictions in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.

Erwin has served as the President of the local chapter of Lambda Alpha International, a land economics honor society. He has taught transportation planning seminars for the Master’s Program in Real Estate at both Georgetown University and the University of Maryland and has been involved in mentoring undergraduates at the George Mason University School of Business. Erwin has participated in several ULI panels that include the Advisory Services Panel in Irvington, IN; Garden City, ID; and Pittsburgh, PA and Technical Assistance Panels for North Capitol Main Street and for the Reimagining of Friendship Heights.

Maggie works on all things related to marketing, sitting primarily in the Fairfax office. Her tasks include writing and designing proposals and teaming requests, creating social media content, and tracking business development events. Maggie also provides administrative assistance for Gorove Slade’s Alexandria office.

In her spare time, Maggie enjoys teaching her pet rabbits new tricks, playing basketball or volleyball with friends, and trying out new coffee shops.

With over two decades of experience in marketing, business development, and communications within the commercial real estate sector, Vicki White has established herself as a leading expert in her field. Her extensive career is marked by a deep commitment to industry advancement and the mentorship of emerging talent through active participation in various professional associations.

Vicki’s career is distinguished by her meticulous attention to strategic planning and problem-solving. Her resourcefulness and results-driven mindset consistently drive growth and efficiency, aligning with company objectives to enhance overall value. Known for her dedication to achieving excellence, Vicki’s approach ensures that every project and initiative delivers measurable success.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Public Relations from the University of Nebraska-Omaha, which has provided a solid foundation for her impactful work in the industry. Vicki’s blend of professional expertise and unwavering commitment makes her a valuable asset in the realm of commercial real estate marketing and business development.
