Maribel works on projects in the District and Maryland out of the Washington, DC office. She has significant transportation engineering experience, including traffic impact studies, traffic simulation, site access and circulation planning, parking demand studies, loading dock analysis, field data collection and analysis, Transportation Demand Management (TDM) planning and analysis. Maribel’s project experience covers the full spectrum of land-use.
Outside of the office, Maribel spends most of her time taking care of her dog Dobby. She also enjoys yoga, rock climbing, and baking. She even brings her homemade vegan baked goods into the office to share with her coworkers!

Omran is an experienced transportation engineer and designer with experience in Fairfax County, Loudoun County, Prince William County, Bristol District, Staunton District Virginia; Montgomery County, Maryland; and Washington, DC. He has over 9 years of design experience, specializing in serving the public sector with working knowledge of VDOT, SHA, MCDOT and DDOT. He has led a wide range of urban, sub-urban, rural and interstate projects. Omran’s experience includes design of traffic signal design, maintenance of traffic plans, signing and pavement marking plans, bike/pedestrian improvement plans, guardrail design, concept roadway planning, and cost estimating. Omran works out of the Fairfax, VA office but lends his expertise to design projects throughout all of Virginia, Maryland, and DC. He is a member of the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE).
Outside of the office, he most enjoys spending time with his wife and kids. He is a Fairfax County native and enjoys serving at his church, playing basketball, eating Thai food, playing golf, watching all sports, and meeting new people. Omran is known as an unofficial tv show/movie critic and he often shares recommendations with his colleagues!

Jake is a transportation professional with over five years of experience in multi-modal transportation planning and engineering. His background includes experience in transit planning, multi-modal corridor studies, campus transit planning, traffic impact studies, parking studies, transit center plans, and station access plans. Jake has been involved with various types of clients, including transit agencies, planning organizations, private developers, and city and county governments. Jake takes an interest in using data to inform our understanding of transportation challenges and finding ways to present technical information to diverse audiences.
A Northern Virginia native, Jake relocated back to the DC Area after working in California for five years. Before joining Gorove Slade in 2021, Jake spent six months traveling around US national parks, visiting 22 parks across 21 states. Outside of the office he enjoys reading, hiking, playing soccer, watching RuPaul’s Drag Race, and cheering on his USC Trojans.

Ariel is a project manager in the Fairfax office and her work is concentrated in Fairfax County and the Cities and Towns within. She has experience with traffic engineering and transportation planning concepts, including transportation impact studies, traffic modeling, design waiver and AM-E requests, signal justification reports, parking adjustments, and Transportation Demand Management (TDM) services. She has worked on a variety of projects including high density, mixed-use, and multi-modal developments.
Originally from Maryland, Ariel is now a Virginia resident with her cats Tippy and Mo. Outside of work she enjoys gymnastics and going to concerts.

Sasha has significant transportation engineering and planning experience, including mixed-use developments, office developments, multi-family residential developments, commercial and retail developments, and K-12 schools. She specializes in multimodal transportation impact studies, traffic analysis (Synchro and SimTraffic), big data, parking demand studies, shared parking analysis, and school studies. She is based out of the Washington DC office and has worked on projects across several jurisdictions throughout Northern Virginia and DC, focused primarily in Arlington County and the City of Alexandria. Sasha is a licensed PE in Virginia and member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE).
Sasha grew up in Northern Virginia and now lives in Dumfries with her husband and pet turtle Orlando. She is a proud Hokie and has spent her career with Gorove Slade since graduating in 2018. During her free time, she spends her time with family and friends, watching college football and basketball (Go Hokies!), and hunting for new home decor/furniture.

Professional Traffic Operations Engineer
Adam has more than 5 years of transportation consulting experience. He leads Gorove Slade’s transportation modeling group – contributing to and leading projects throughout the D.C. metro area. Adam’s experience includes many facets of transportation engineering and planning including multimodal traffic operational analysis in VISSIM and Synchro, traffic impact studies, master planning, traffic forecasting, and safety analysis.
Adam has been actively involved with ITE since his time as a student. Since then, he served on committees at the section, district, and international levels, and was selected to be a member of the 2024 class of LeadershipITE. As a member of the Chesapeake and Potomac Section of ITE (CAPSITE), he assists on the STEM and Simulation and Capacity (SimCap) committees.
As somewhat of a native to the D.C. region, Adam enjoys acting as tour guide to visitors and exploring the area to find hidden gems. He is a regular at trivia nights, board game hangouts, and the occasional awards show watch party. On a nice day, you may find him running or hiking a local trail with his husband and dog. On a not so nice day, Adam is probably playing a city builder video game.

She is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE).
Originally from Southern Illinois, Kayla now enjoys exploring DC and Northern Virginia. She likes playing soccer, baking and trying new foods. As a big Purdue fan, she partakes (along with all the other Big Ten alumni/fans in the office) in debating on whose team will be superior each year in hopes that one day it will be the Boilermakers! As a “funtivity” committee member, she helps create many of the events Gorove Slade hosts throughout the year.

Ashley has nine years of experience working on transportation design, analysis, and planning projects and is based in the Washington, DC, office. After starting her career working on large-scale roadway design projects, Ashley has taken these experiences and transferred her knowledge of practical design and technical concepts to the world of traffic studies and simulation, transportation impact studies, signing and pavement marking design, site access and circulation planning, and parking planning. She is passionate about helping to create public spaces that are safe, accessible, and enjoyable for all modes of travel.
Ashley is an active Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) member and is the Chesapeake and Potomac Section of ITE’s Social Media Chair. She also heads the ITE Transportation Planning Council’s Multimodal TIA Case Studies Working Group.
Ashley, a resident of Alexandria, Virginia, loves to explore the DMV by foot, bicycle, bus, and Metro with her family. She enjoys snuggling up with a good book and a cup of coffee, traveling and exploring new cities, and spending time in the great outdoors.

Rob is a transportation engineer working out of Gorove Slade’s Richmond office. He has two years of experience primarily focused on traffic analysis, signal design, and traffic management plans (TMPs). His technical skill set includes Synchro, SimTraffic, and Microstation. He has an EIT designation, IMSA Traffic Signal Field Technician (Level 1) Certification, and a VDOT Advanced Work Zone certification. Rob is interested in intelligent infrastructure, sustainable development, and renewable energy.
In his free time, he enjoys hiking, going to concerts, and playing guitar and bass.

Sam leads Gorove Slade’s design team for the DC and Bethesda offices. Working primarily out of Bethesda, Sam has multiple years of experience working in both private and public sector transportation design projects. Sam has expertise in traffic signal design, roadway signing and striping plans, traffic control/maintenance of traffic plans, curbside management, loading analysis, pedestrian & bicycle facility design, and functional parking design.
Sam’s market focus is Washington, DC, Arlington County, Fairfax County, the City of Alexandria, and the entire state of Maryland. Sam and his team manage the firm’s permitting practice, which also operates across multiple jurisdictions. He is a member of Associated Builders and Contractors of Metro Washington, working to expand the firm’s footprint across a new set of clients.
Sam is a northern Virginia native and resides in Friendship Heights with his wife and daughter. Prior to his career as a transportation engineer, he served in the United States Army Infantry. He remains active in several veteran organizations. Sam is a bike commuter, and outside of work he enjoys running, soccer, and a crippling addiction to Peloton. An avid DC sports fan, when he’s not at the arena or stadiums, he can usually be found wandering around northwest DC with his dogs, Rocket and Groot.

Michael has over ten years of experience across a wide array of transportation engineering services for private, public, and institutional clients. His experience includes preparation of transportation impact analyses, traffic signal design, ITS/tolling and lighting design, curb ramp design, maintenance of traffic plan preparation, speed studies, and parking demand studies.
His work is primarily focused on Virginia, but he has performed work for projects in 15+ different states. He is also currently the 2nd Vice President of the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) – Old Dominion Section.
