Our Team

Chris has spent his entire professional career at Gorove Slade and has served as president since 2007 when the firm’s founders transitioned ownership to Chris and a team of principals. He leads with a steadfast commitment to client service and staff development. Under his leadership the company has fostered a cohesive “One Firm” ethos across all offices and launched strategic initiatives supporting expansion. Chris began his career as an entry-level engineer and grew into a market leader, eventually establishing the first Virginia office location to spur growth throughout Northern Virginia. His portfolio of work includes both public and private projects, with experience balancing local and state regulations while championing transportation solutions that optimize mobility across all modes of transportation. Chris has provided expert testimony before various boards, commissions and courts, contributed to articles in industry publications, and shared insights at trade conferences and universities.

While originally from Connecticut, Chris has been a Fairfax County resident for nearly three decades and has fostered close community ties. In his free time, Chris enjoys golfing, skiing, and exploring the world with his wife, three adult children, and dog, Santino “Sonny” Coreleone Tacinelli.

Chad is a practice leader in Gorove Slade’s Fairfax office. He possesses over two decades of transportation engineering and planning experience serving both the public and private sector. Chad’s experience includes traffic impact studies, parking studies, circulation planning, queuing analyses, traffic simulation, roadway signing and striping planning, maintenance of traffic plan design, and traffic signal design. He’s advanced projects associated with every land-use including schools, residential developments, universities, small and large commercial facilities, mixed-use developments, and transit-oriented developments.

Chad’s market focus is in Prince William County and Southern Fairfax County. His projects also take him to Stafford County, Spotsylvania County, Fauquier County and Culpeper County. He manages several of the firm’s on-call engagements throughout Northern Virginia. He is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineering (ITE) and the National Association for Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP).

From New Boston, NH, Chad attended college in Bristol, Rhode Island. He was the starting catcher all four years of his collegiate baseball career. He moved to the Washington, DC area after graduation and now lives in Haymarket, Virginia with his wife (Amber), two sons (Tristan & Jackson), and daughter (Chloe). Outside of work, Chad coaches a youth baseball team – the Virginia Cannons – and is the league’s Vice President of Baseball Operations.

Dan has spent most of his career at Gorove Slade. After starting as a Transportation Engineer with the company almost 25 years ago, he quickly worked his way to Project Manager, Director of Engineering for the DC office, and then Principal. Today as a Vice President and Senior Principal, Dan’s role is to oversee the company’s marketing team, mentor the next generation of Principals, and support strategic efforts that foster company growth. He does this by leveraging his diverse project experience, robust professional network, and keen interest to see those in his orbit succeed.

Over his years of experience Dan has worked for public, private and institutional clients throughout the United States and internationally, on a variety of land uses and master plans. His primary geographic market focus most recently has been projects in the District of Columbia, Arlington County and the City of Alexandria. Dan has always been drawn to the urban context where creating human-scale and walkability are a priority. He appreciates the conversation that happens around our projects in those areas and knowing that everyone sees themselves as a transportation “expert” keeps it fun.

Dan is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, the DC Building Industry Association, NAIOP Northern Virginia, Lamba Alpha International GW Chapter, and the Institute of Transportation Engineers. He has hosted webinars, assisted in the classroom, and actively seeks to mentor those in the industry and give back to the community.

He is a West Virginia native, adopted Panamanian by marriage, and calls Alexandria home today. He and his wife met in the Dual Degree Engineering program at Washington University in St. Louis. They have two children and an American Bulldog. They love spending time together as a family enjoying all the rich amenities of the DC area and traveling abroad to discover new places when they get the opportunity.

Erwin has over 30 years of experience working on a wide range of traffic and transportation projects serving private sector, public sector, institutional, and federal agency clients in the metropolitan Washington, DC area. His experience has been geared to serve the strategic development needs of private developers, address local jurisdictional approval requirements for federal agency clients, and develop sound transportation operational and management plans for institutional clients. He has testified as an expert witness before public zoning boards and commissions locally in the District of Columbia, Montgomery County, and Prince George’s County, as well as in various jurisdictions in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.

Erwin has served as the President of the local chapter of Lambda Alpha International, a land economics honor society. He has taught transportation planning seminars for the Master’s Program in Real Estate at both Georgetown University and the University of Maryland and has been involved in mentoring undergraduates at the George Mason University School of Business. Erwin has participated in several ULI panels that include the Advisory Services Panel in Irvington, IN; Garden City, ID; and Pittsburgh, PA and Technical Assistance Panels for North Capitol Main Street and for the Reimagining of Friendship Heights.

Tushar is a practice leader in Gorove Slade’s Fairfax office and has significant transportation engineering and planning experience serving both the public and private sectors. As part of the leadership group, Tushar plays an active role, providing inputs and assistance on companywide initiatives. He co-leads Gorove Slade’s Loudoun County practice and possesses over 20 years of experience. His experience includes traffic impact studies, due diligence studies, signal justification reports, parking studies, traffic simulation, roadway design support, and traffic signal design. He also manages several on-call contracts in Loudoun County.

Tushar is registered as a Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia and is a member of NAIOP (the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties) and NVBIA (Northern Virginia Building Industry Association).

Originally from Pune, India, Tushar moved to the United States in 2002 to pursue his Masters degree. He now lives in Herndon with his wife and daughter. When Tushar clocks out of work, you’ll likely find him glued to cricket matches or testing out his Hindi comedic chops.

Kevin is a practice leader focusing on projects in Prince William County, Stafford County, Culpeper County, Fauquier County, and the northern Shenandoah Valley. His experience includes traffic engineering, multi-modal transportation planning, parking assessment, and expert testimony for private-sector, institutional, and public-sector clients. His engagements have included land use approvals for large and small commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments, implementation of roadway improvement projects, and master planning for corporate, hospital, and university campuses in the Washington metropolitan area and nationwide.

He is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and the National Association for Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). He is a Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the State of Maryland.

Kevin grew up in Fairfax County and has been a resident of Manassas Park or Prince William County for the last 25 years. He enjoys supporting his three daughters’ extracurricular activities, including serving as a Prop Dad for their dance studio.

Felice is a practice leader in Gorove Slade’s Alexandria office, focusing on projects in Arlington, Alexandria, and Fairfax County. She has worked in Northern Virginia markets for over 15 years and her experience includes multimodal transportation engineering and planning, transportation impact studies, traffic simulation, site access and circulation planning, roadway signing and striping plans, traffic signal design, functional parking lot and garage design, parking demand, and Transportation Demand Management (TDM) strategies. Her experience includes mixed-use developments, multi-family residential, affordable housing, commercial and retail developments, and municipal uses. As much of her work is in urban areas, she enjoys the challenge of finding balanced solutions that accommodate the needs of each travel mode. Felice holds a PE in Virginia and is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and participates in NAIOP and NVBIA.

Originally from the Atlanta area, Felice started her career in Nashville before relocating to Arlington in 2007. She now lives in Alexandria with her husband, two children and beagle-husky dog. During her time in the office, she enjoys collaborating and connecting with coworkers, and participating in Gorove Slade events. Outside of the office, she loves to travel, be outdoors, volunteer at her kids’ schools, dream up countless home projects, and spend time with family and friends.

Carl is based in our Richmond office, and he has 24 years of experience performing Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA), traffic signal design, and parking demand studies. He has worked for private, public and institutional clients across the Southeast. His market practice area includes nearly all of Virginia – including the Richmond, Fredericksburg, Charlottesville, Roanoke, Blacksburg, Lynchburg, Harrisonburg, Staunton and Hampton Roads metro areas. Carl performs traffic studies in West Virginia on a regular basis, and has also done work in Arkansas, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee in the past for various clients. He is responsible for managing the Richmond office, and growing our presence in the markets we serve.

Carl is an active member of the Virginia Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (VASITE), the Greater Richmond Association for Commercial Real Estate (GRACRE), and the Urban Land Institute (ULI).

Carl was born and raised in Maryland, and has lived in Richmond since 2011. He is married with three daughters, one son, and a golden retriever. In his spare time, he enjoys family time, running 5k’s, watching football, snow skiing, and learning about history.

Maria Lashinger is a Principal at Gorove Slade leading the firm’s work in Fairfax County and the surrounding towns and cities. She has 20 years of experience providing transportation engineering and planning services on projects that have shaped the region. Her skills conducting transportation impact studies, parking analyses, site access and circulation evaluations have contributed to successful retail, office, residential, and mixed-use developments as well as numerous public facilities in the County. Maria is an advocate for multimodal transportation and works to accommodate all modes of travel with a focus on providing safe bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure. At Gorove Slade, Maria has grown in her career from a transportation engineer to a project manager and is now one of the owners of the firm. She leads a team of engineers, designers, and planners out of the Fairfax office working on projects throughout the county.

Maria earned her bachelor’s degree from The Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree from the University of San Francisco. She is a member of ULI, ITE, and NAIOP and is a volunteer with Think Big for Kids. Outside of work, Maria enjoys golfing and supporting her favorite sports teams!

Rob is a Principal overseeing the firm’s transportation planning practice. With over 20 years of experience, he specializes in multi-modal solutions and strategic planning for campuses, neighborhoods, and large developments, helping to define the hierarchy and role of each mode as they interact in urban environments. Rob considers all modes of transportation and brings non-vehicular analysis methodologies to a project, tailoring approach to specific goals unique to each project’s context.

Rob frequently presents to civil engineering classes at the University of Virginia, his alma mater. Rob is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, the American Planning Association, and Urban Land Institute (ULI).

Rob lives in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife, Erin and his two daughters, Evie and Alexa.

Daniel has significant transportation planning and engineering experience, including traffic impact studies, traffic simulation, field data collection and analysis, Transportation Demand Management (TDM), roadway signing and striping plans, bicycle planning and facilities design, parking studies, functional parking lot and garage design, and multi-modal planning efforts. He has been involved with various types of projects including educational institutions, mixed-use developments, commercial and retail developments, office developments, and government facilities throughout the District of Columbia, Virginia, and Maryland. He takes great interest in the multi-modal component of urban projects that require innovative solutions to benefit all modes of transportation. Daniel holds AICP credentials and is an active member of Urban Land Institute (ULI) Washington.

Daniel is a native of Israel who has lived in the District with his wife since 2014. Outside of work, Daniel volunteers at the National Building Museum’s CityVision program to teach DC public school students the basics of urban planning, design, architecture, and community-oriented planning. He enjoys playing soccer, ultimate frisbee, cycling, board games, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Erin is a Principal in Gorove Slade’s Fairfax office and has considerable transportation engineering experience serving both the public and private sectors. With 14 years of experience, primarily focused in the Loudoun County, Virginia market, she has been involved in all facets of transportation planning and traffic engineering. Her experience includes traffic impact studies, shared parking studies, traffic signal warrant studies, traffic signal design, roundabout analysis, signal optimization/corridor studies, speed studies, crosswalk studies and traffic volume projection studies. She has been involved with a variety of projects including schools, residential developments, small and large commercial facilities, government facilities and mixed-use developments. Erin is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP).

Erin grew up in West Virginia and loves her return visits to cheer on the Mountaineers. She lives in Fairfax with her family and in her time off enjoys traveling with them.

Katie is a Principal at Gorove Slade where she leads the Maryland office. She has significant transportation planning and engineering experience, including traffic impact studies, traffic simulation, site access and circulation planning, roadway signing and striping plans, traffic signal design, functional parking lot and garage design, Transportation Demand Management (TDM) planning and analysis. She has led projects for educational institutions, mixed-use developments, commercial and retail developments, office developments, government facilities, and a wide variety of other land-uses and clients throughout the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. She takes great interest in the multimodal component of urban projects that requires brainstorming solutions to benefit all modes of transportation.

She is an active member of Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), Urban Land Institute (ULI), Commercial Real Estate Women Network (CREW), Maryland Building Industry Association (MBIA), and National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP MD|DC) where she serves on various committees and involved in different programs. Katie completed ULI’s Leadership Institute and in 2022 was recognized with the Champion Award by the DC chapter of CREW. Katie has a focus on People and Culture where she seeks to foster a strong culture focused on organization, efficiency, teamwork, and staff development at Gorove Slade.

While originally from the Pacific Northwest, Katie fell in love with the DC area seeing the impacts of the projects she has worked on in the community. She lives in Bethesda, Maryland where you will likely spot her running or walking with her husband and hound-dog, Maya.

Shashwat joined Gorove Slade in 2021, where he specializes in traffic impact analysis reports, signal justification reports, design waivers, AM-E requests, and traffic operations within Prince William County and the Piedmont region. His technical proficiency encompasses tools such as Synchro, SimTraffic, Vistro, ArcGIS, HCS, and AutoCAD. Additionally, he contributes to projects in Fairfax and Loudoun counties. Shashwat is an active member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers.

Originally from India, he finds joy in various activities including working out, hiking, reading, watching cricket, and listening to classic rock. He is currently mastering the guitar and keyboard. Shashwat values the diversity and rich culture fostered within Gorove Slade.

Mike is the Director of Transportation Engineering in our Richmond office with 14 years of combined experience in the private and public sectors. He handles a wide range of traffic and transportation projects including Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA), traffic signal warrant analysis, traffic signal design, corridor signal timing plans, and Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans. He has worked for private, public and institutional clients across the Southeast. His market practice area includes nearly all of Virginia – including the Richmond, Fredericksburg, Charlottesville, Roanoke / Blacksburg, and Hampton Roads metro areas. Mike is responsible for business development, project execution and client coordination. Mike is an active member of the Virginia Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (VASITE) and the Greater Richmond Association for Commercial Real Estate (GRACRE).

Victor joined Gorove Slade in 2023 as a Project Transportation Designer. He has previous experience providing civil engineering services to land development projects in Loudoun, Fairfax, and Prince William Counties. He has worked on private and public developments, residential, commercial, mixed-use, data centers, and roadway projects.

Outside of work, Victor is passionate about traveling, fitness, and cooking

Anushree has completed projects for public and private sector clients for over ten years. Her experience includes all facets of traffic engineering and transportation planning – traffic and simulation analysis for intersection studies and corridor studies, signal justification reports, roundabout analysis, speed studies, signal optimization, data collection, and crosswalk studies. Anushree primarily works on projects in Loudoun County but has experience in traffic engineering studies for projects in Fairfax County and Prince William County as well.

Anushree is also a certified Pastry Chef and loves hosting and decorating for parties, traveling with her family, yoga and playing badminton.

Before starting her adventure at Gorove Slade, Therese worked in mental healthcare. For 6 years, she enjoyed helping people and working through challenges such as mastering CRM/EMR platforms and patient care. She is a Salisbury University alumni and looks forward to bringing her professional experience to Gorove Slade and helping the company grow and prosper!

Outside of work, Therese enjoys a variety of craft hobbies including decoupage and crocheting. She also enjoys spending time outdoors with her dog going to local parks and on camping trips. When the weather doesn’t agree with those plans, she can be found curled up with her dog reading a fantasy novel.

Josh joined Gorove Slade to support the administration team. He has prior experience working in the civil engineering firm working on billing and corporate accounting. Outside of work, Josh enjoys hiking and has recently taken up golf and snowboarding.

Maribel works on projects in the District and Maryland out of the Washington, DC office. She has significant transportation engineering experience, including traffic impact studies, traffic simulation, site access and circulation planning, parking demand studies, loading dock analysis, field data collection and analysis, Transportation Demand Management (TDM) planning and analysis. Maribel’s project experience covers the full spectrum of land-use.

Outside of the office, Maribel spends most of her time taking care of her dog Dobby. She also enjoys yoga, rock climbing, and baking. She even brings her homemade vegan baked goods into the office to share with her coworkers!

Omran is an experienced transportation engineer and designer with experience in Fairfax County, Loudoun County, Prince William County, Bristol District, Staunton District Virginia; Montgomery County, Maryland; and Washington, DC. He has over 9 years of design experience, specializing in serving the public sector with working knowledge of VDOT, SHA, MCDOT and DDOT. He has led a wide range of urban, sub-urban, rural and interstate projects. Omran’s experience includes design of traffic signal design, maintenance of traffic plans, signing and pavement marking plans, bike/pedestrian improvement plans, guardrail design, concept roadway planning, and cost estimating. Omran works out of the Fairfax, VA office but lends his expertise to design projects throughout all of Virginia, Maryland, and DC. He is a member of the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE).

Outside of the office, he most enjoys spending time with his wife and kids. He is a Fairfax County native and enjoys serving at his church, playing basketball, eating Thai food, playing golf, watching all sports, and meeting new people. Omran is known as an unofficial tv show/movie critic and he often shares recommendations with his colleagues!

Kiana supports the Fairfax and Richmond office with project administration and facilities management, in addition to supporting the administrative team. She is a Virginia native who frequents various amenities in Centreville. Outside of the office, she enjoys sewing, crafting, and reading with a hot cup of tea.

Melinda has 15 years of experience across office administration and management including marketing, graphic design, production, and facilities management. Before starting a career as business manager, Melinda spent 15 years as an Executive Assistant and Office Manager in commercial real estate.

Melinda is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and contributes to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. She enjoys spending time with her family playing board games, hiking, and gardening with her cat.

Ramie joined Gorove Slade in May 2023 and works primarily on the Fairfax County team. His typical scope of work includes transportation impact studies for rezoning applications and site-specific plan amendments, transportation demand management plans, parking management plans, warrants, signal justification reports, and several more. His areas of specialty include pedestrian and bicycle elements such as pedestrian level of comfort and bicycle level of traffic stress.

Ramie likes to play soccer, run with his track club, and travel.

Ben joined Gorove Slade in 2023 with 2 years of experience and sits in the Washington, DC office. He works on signal plans, traffic control plans, pavement marking and signing plans, and transportation/parking management plans for development projects throughout the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. He has a special passion for active transportation.

A Montgomery County native and former Northern Virginia resident, Ben now lives in Park View, DC. When he is not working, he is probably riding his bike, gardening, or playing tennis. He also enjoys standup comedy and all trivia events. He is on a quest to get to the highest point of every state and has been to 29 so far!

Sreekanth joined Gorove Slade in 2021 working out of the Fairfax office. He works on TIAs, scoping documents, parking studies, and traffic simulations on projects in Prince William County and Fairfax County. He is interested in microsimulation, optimization, and big data analysis. Sreekanth completed and defended a thesis on signal coordination from NCSU titled “Multi-Cycle Semi-Actuated Signal Coordination.”

He was a national level swimmer for India and continues swim in his free time. In addition to swimming, Sreekanth enjoys watching live sports. He has enjoyed Gorove Slade’s trivia nights and office potluck lunches.

Blake is based in the DC office and has two years of experience working at various transportation engineering consulting firms. He currently works on traffic engineering and transportation planning projects in the District of Columbia and Northern Virginia. Blake is skilled with analysis software such as Synchro, and his work experience includes traffic impact studies, transportation modeling, site access and circulation evaluations, transportation demand management, traffic calming design, and bicycle master planning. Blake is a member of the Young Professionals in Transportation (YPT).

Blake has lived in Chicago and Atlanta but is now happily settled down in DC. Blake enjoys exploring DC’s various neighborhoods and volunteers with Mt. Pleasant’s Lantern Walk. He enjoys playing board games, collecting hats, and going to festivals.

Jake is a transportation professional with over five years of experience in multi-modal transportation planning and engineering. His background includes experience in transit planning, multi-modal corridor studies, campus transit planning, traffic impact studies, parking studies, transit center plans, and station access plans. Jake has been involved with various types of clients, including transit agencies, planning organizations, private developers, and city and county governments. Jake takes an interest in using data to inform our understanding of transportation challenges and finding ways to present technical information to diverse audiences.

A Northern Virginia native, Jake relocated back to the DC Area after working in California for five years. Before joining Gorove Slade in 2021, Jake spent six months traveling around US national parks, visiting 22 parks across 21 states. Outside of the office he enjoys reading, hiking, playing soccer, watching RuPaul’s Drag Race, and cheering on his USC Trojans.

I recently joined Gorove Slade as a new grad from the University of Kentucky and I currently have almost 1 year of experience as a transportation engineer. In my first few months here, I worked in the Fairfax County and Prince William County markets. Currently, I work in the Alexandria office serving the City of Alexandria and Arlington County markets. I have worked on a variety of projects which include Traffic Impact Studies, Multimodal Transportation Assessments, Turn Lane Warrants, DCSM waivers, Signal Justification reports, Access Management exceptions and Transportation Demand Management plans. I have also done scoping for a variety of projects here in the Northern Virginia area. I am skilled in analysis software such as Synchro and Vistro, and also in ArcGIS.

Outside of the office, I enjoy hanging out with my friends and exploring the DC area as I have recently just moved to the area. I also enjoy watching limited tv series and reading books from time to time.

Ariel is a project manager in the Fairfax office and her work is concentrated in Fairfax County and the Cities and Towns within. She has experience with traffic engineering and transportation planning concepts, including transportation impact studies, traffic modeling, design waiver and AM-E requests, signal justification reports, parking adjustments, and Transportation Demand Management (TDM) services. She has worked on a variety of projects including high density, mixed-use, and multi-modal developments.

Originally from Maryland, Ariel is now a Virginia resident with her cats Tippy and Mo. Outside of work she enjoys gymnastics and going to concerts.

Tracy is a senior transportation engineer with 8 years of experience in the private and public sectors, with work on a variety of residential, commercial, and municipal projects. She is experienced with a wide range of transportation engineering needs, including traffic impact studies (with analysis in Synchro and Simtraffic), speed studies, traffic calming evaluations, signal warrants, and turn lane warrants. She began her transportation engineering career with Gorove Slade in the DC office and now works out of the Richmond office, with a focus on the growing Hampton Roads market.

Tracy resides in Norfolk, VA with her fellow Hokie husband and toddler son. She is a 3-time Ironman triathlon finisher and enjoys living and training on the Elizabeth River Trail! She and her family enjoy live music, rock climbing, and spending summer days at the beach.

Teertha recently graduated from George Mason University with her master’s in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation Engineering. She also has an associate degree and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Based in our Fairfax office, she primarily works on projects in Prince William County. Teertha is skilled at completing Traffic Impact Analyses. She is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

In her free time, she enjoys curating playlists, reading fiction and cooking.

Sumedh is a transportation engineer in the Fairfax office with 3 years of experience, working on traffic impact studies, transportation due diligence reports, signal justification reports, access management assessments amongst other transportation engineering assignments in Northern Virginia. He is involved in Young Professionals in Transportation, ASCE, ITE, and TRB and finds it enriching to have the latest know-how on anything and everything transportation.

Sumedh is an avid runner, with his favorite running spots being the Fairfax County Parkway and W&OD trail – close to his home. Being a budding guitar player, Sumedh is generally a fan of every type of music that has the electric guitar – with some of his favorite groups being Pink Floyd, Eagles and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Sumedh also likes to cheer on the Boilermakers and the Aggies.

Mike works on projects for Gorove Slade from the Alexandria, VA office and his work is concentrated in Alexandria and Arlington County. He has skills in Synchro and AutoCAD and enjoys working on traffic impact analyses and signalized intersection designs. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Outside of the office, Mike enjoys reading comic books and is involved in rec league sports.

Sasha works out of the Alexandria office on projects throughout Northern Virginia and in DC. She has experience working on mixed-use developments, office developments, multi-family residential developments, commercial and retail developments, and K-12 schools. She specializes in multimodal transportation impact studies, traffic analysis (Synchro and SimTraffic), big data, parking demand studies, shared parking analysis, and school studies.

Sasha loves spending time with her dog Sonic (who makes guest appearances on team calls). A Hokies fan year round, she especially follows college football and basketball seasons.

Portia is based in the Fairfax office and recently graduated with a master’s degree in civil engineering. She primarily serves the Loudoun County market and mainly does Traffic Impact Analysis.

Portia is an engineer in training and is a current member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). In her free time she enjoys cooking, reading, and going on walks.

Flo has over 10 years of business and office management experience in the AEC industry and additional experience within the commercial real estate industry.

Flo grew up in Northern Virginia and lives with her family in Alexandria. Outside of the office, she practices and teaches yoga and meditation. In the past, Flo has had the amazing opportunity to volunteer abroad for a month in Dharamasala, India for a local preschool, and hopes to do something similar again, but this time with her younger daughter.

Mary joined Gorove Slade with 8 years of experience working on a wide range of traffic and transportation projects for private and public sector clients throughout the United States. She is experienced in completing transportation impact studies, interchange studies, design waiver and AM-E requests, signal justification reports, corridor studies, alternative intersection control evaluations, multiway stop analyses, signal timings plans, and parking & circulation studies. She is also experienced with traffic modeling and simulation using Synchro, Sidra, SimTraffic, and Transmodeler.

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, checking out local festivals, kayaking, board games, and any activity that includes a free t-shirt.

Erin is based in the DC office and primarily serves the DC and Northern Virginia markets. With 3 years of experience in transportation engineering and planning projects, her work includes campus master planning, traffic impact analysis, and multimodal transportation studies. Erin is skilled in ArcGIS and has a strong passion for geospatial data science and visualizations.

Outside of work, Erin enjoys spending time at home relaxing on her couch watching reality shows. She balances her homebody lifestyle with a love for weight training and aims to achieve the goal of doing 10 pull-ups in a row one day!

Jason, based in our Fairfax office, has 3 years of experience in the Transportation Industry which includes 2 years as a Roadway Design Engineer and 1 year in Traffic Analysis. Primarily serving Prince William County and the Piedmont region, Jason works on traffic impact studies and various other traffic related items. He enjoys music, food, and conversing with colleagues about new food and restaurants they’ve tried!

Anila joined Gorove Slade in 2021 working out of the Bethesda office. Her project work includes transportation impact studies, campus transportation planning, parking demand analysis, parking management plans, and scoping documents on projects in DC, Arlington, Alexandria, and Maryland. She has experience working with Synchro, VISSIM, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and AutoTurn.

Anila was born in India and now lives in Maryland. She loves reading mythology books, playing badminton, and binge-watching television shows.

Adam has more than 5 years of transportation consulting experience. He leads Gorove Slade’s transportation modeling group – contributing to and leading projects throughout the D.C. metro area. Adam is based out of the Alexandria office and his experience includes many facets of transportation engineering and planning including multimodal traffic operational analysis in VISSIM and Synchro, traffic impact studies, master planning, traffic forecasting, and safety analysis.

Adam has been actively involved with ITE since his time as a student. Since then, he served on committees at the section, district, and international levels, and was selected to be a member of the 2024 class of LeadershipITE. As a member of the Chesapeake and Potomac Section of ITE (CAPSITE), he assists on the STEM and Simulation and Capacity (SimCap) committees.

As somewhat of a native to the D.C. region, Adam enjoys acting as tour guide to visitors and exploring the area to find hidden gems. He is a regular at trivia nights, board game hangouts, and the occasional awards show watch party. On a nice day, you may find him running or hiking a local trail with his husband and dog. On a not so nice day, Adam is probably playing a city builder video game.

Kayla has significant transportation planning and engineering experience including traffic impact studies, traffic simulation, site access and circulation planning, parking studies, signal justification studies, and TDM planning. She is based in the Fairfax, VA office and her work covers a number of jurisdictions in Northern Virginia with a focus on Fairfax County and Prince William County. She has been involved with various types of projects including large mixed-use developments, transit-oriented developments, office developments, residential developments, and industrial developments throughout Virginia. She is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE).

Originally from Southern Illinois, Kayla has found she now enjoys exploring DC and Northern Virginia. She likes playing soccer, baking and trying new foods. As a big Purdue fan, she partakes (along with all the other Big Ten alumni/fans in the office) in debating on who’s team will be superior each year in hopes that one day it will be the Boilermakers! As a member of the “funtivity” committee, she helps create many of the events Gorove Slade hosts throughout the year.

Ashley has nine years of experience working on transportation design, analysis, and planning projects and is based in the Washington DC office. After starting her career working on large-scale roadway design projects, Ashley has taken these experiences and transferred her knowledge of practical design and technical concepts to the world of traffic studies and simulation, transportation impact studies, signing and pavement marking design, site access and circulation planning, and parking planning. She is passionate about helping to create public spaces that are safe, accessible, and enjoyable for all modes of travel.

Ashley is an active member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and currently serves at the Chesapeake and Potomac Section of ITE’s Social Media Chair. She also heads the ITE Transportation Planning Council’s Multimodal TIA Case Studies Working Group.

A resident to Alexandria, Virigina, Ashley loves to explore the DMV by foot, bicycle, bus, and Metro with her family. She enjoys snuggling up with a good book and a cup of coffee, traveling and exploring new cities, and spending time in the great outdoors.

LaRee joined Gorove Slade with over 20 years of progressive operational accounting experience working for individuals and privately held companies across several industries including real estate construction and management, professional services, and retail. She is experienced with all general areas of accounting and manages our accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general maintenance of accounting records to reflect day to day operations. She is a Certified Public Accountant and is a current member of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Local to Northern Virginia, LaRee is very involved in her community. She volunteers with her family school and extra curricular activities, The ParrotHeads of the Old Dominion and is an active member of All Saints Catholic Church. Outside of work and her community involvement, LaRee enjoys reading, doing puzzles, watching animated Disney movies (really anything Disney Magic), attending live concerts, shows, and events.

Rob is a transportation engineer working out of Gorove Slade’s Richmond office. He has two years of experience primarily focused on traffic analysis, signal design, and traffic management plans (TMPs). His technical skill set includes Synchro, SimTraffic, and Microstation. He has an EIT designation, IMSA Traffic Signal Field Technician (Level 1) Certification, and a VDOT Advanced Work Zone certification. Rob is interested in intelligent infrastructure, sustainable development, and renewable energy.

In his free time, he enjoys hiking, going to concerts, and playing guitar and bass.

Pulkit is a Project Manager in Gorove Slade’s Fairfax, Virginia office. He has completed projects for public and private sector clients for more than nine years. His experience includes all facets of traffic engineering and transportation planning including traffic studies, traffic analysis for new roadway design projects, signal justification reports, roundabout analysis, speed studies, signal optimization, and crosswalk studies.

Pulkit is originally from India, and moved to the US 12 years ago. He enjoys hiking and traveling to National Parks; he has visited 24 so far! Pulkit has an annual tradition of watching the extended editions of his favorite film series Lord of the Rings. Other hobbies include cooking, playing squash, snooker, pickleball, volleyball, and disc golf.

Maria joined Gorove Slade in 2020 bringing with her prior experience in structural engineering. She has experience in project entitlement, parking studies, transportation and parking management plans, design work – including pavement markings and signage plans, truck maneuvering, and conceptual roadway design plans – throughout Alexandria, Arlington, and DC. As a student she participated in the ITE Student Leadership Summit and attended TRB in 2019 and 2020.

Outside of work, Maria loves going to the movies, spending time with family, and walking her three dogs. She also enjoys sports and plays tennis regularly.

Kat joined Gorove Slade with 6 years of transportation and roadway design experience, specifying in intersection reconstruction and ADA design. Working out of the DC office, she will use her wide array of design experience to help serve signal design projects, traffic control plans, and pavement marking and signing projects throughout the DMV area. Kat is also an active member of WTS-DC and has a passion for introducing young women to STEM careers and retaining them in the workforce throughout their careers.

Originally from Rochester, NY, Kat lived in Minneapolis, MN for 5 years and ultimately ended up back on the east coast in Arlington, VA. Outside of work, Kat plays semi-professional ultimate frisbee with the DC Shadow, coaches a few youth ultimate teams, and loves playing on rec sports leagues (soccer, pickleball, dodgeball, you name it!)

David works on projects across Virginia for Gorove Slade from its Richmond, VA office. David has experience with traffic engineering and is skilled with analysis software such as Sidra, VISTRO, Synchro, and SimTraffic. His work experience includes traffic impact studies, signal justification reports, parking studies, and AM-E requests.

David is a Fairfax County native, but now lives in the Richmond area. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his fiancé, going on walks, and online gaming.

Maggie works on all things related to Marketing, sitting primarily in the Fairfax office. Her tasks include writing and designing proposals and teaming requests, creating social media content, and tracking business development events. Maggie also provides administrative assistance for Gorove Slade’s Alexandria office.

In her spare time, Maggie enjoys teaching her pet rabbits new tricks, playing basketball or volleyball with friends, and trying out new coffee shops.

Pankaj is an associate and project engineer with extensive experience working in all counties in the Northern Virginia region. With approximately 4 years of experience at Gorove Slade and over a year at VDOT’s Research Council, he has a diverse background in completing projects for both public and private sector clients. His expertise spans all aspects of traffic engineering and transportation planning, including traffic impact studies, traffic modeling and simulation, interchange access reports, roundabout analysis, crosswalk studies, speed studies, signal optimization, waiver/exception requests, traffic operations, and probe data visualization and analysis. Pankaj is highly proficient in utilizing traffic analysis software such as Synchro, SimTraffic, PTV VISSIM, Sidra, PTV Vistro, and AutoCAD. Additionally, he possesses a strong understanding of VDOT traffic analysis guidelines, TOSAM, and the various requirements of NOVA district jurisdictions.

Lauren is a project transportation engineer in the Fairfax office and her work is concentrated in Fairfax County and the surrounding towns and cities. She has experience with traffic engineering and transportation planning concepts, including transportation impact studies, traffic modeling, design waiver and access management exception requests, parking studies, and Transportation Demand Management (TDM) services. She has been involved with various types of projects including large mixed-use developments, transit-oriented developments, and multimodal projects throughout Fairfax County.

Lauren is a native of Northern Virginia and a proud Virginia Tech alum. Outside of the office, she enjoys trying new restaurants, going on walks, and listening to Taylor Swift.

Sam, who works primarily out of our Bethesda office, has over 13 years of experience working in public and private sector traffic and transportation projects. Sam is a project manager and leads the design team for the DC, Bethesda, and Alexandria offices. Sam has expertise in traffic signal design, roadway signing and striping plans, traffic control/maintenance of traffic plans, curbside management, loading analysis, field data collection and functional parking lot and garage design. His market practice areas include the District of Columbia; Arlington County and the City of Alexandria in Virginia; and all of Maryland. Sam also has significant experience working on a wide variety of VDOT projects throughout Virginia.

Sam is a member of the Society of Military Engineers and prior to his career as a transportation engineer, he served in the United States Army Infantry. He remains active in several veteran organizations.

Sam is a northern Virginia native and resides in Friendship Heights with his wife and daughter. Sam is a bike commuter and outside of work he is an avid runner, soccer player, and an enthusiastic DC sports fan. He can usually be found wandering around AU Park with his dogs, Rocket and Groot.

Sushant Tiwari is a transportation engineer in the Richmond office. He has experience with Traffic Impact Analysis, Traffic modeling, Signal warrants, Turn Lane warrants, Parking studies and Signal Design. His technical skill set includes Synchro, Simtraffic, Microstation, AutoCAD, PTV vistro, Revit, Navisworks, Q-GIS, ArcGIS, GAMS, Python, MatLAB, and R-Studio. He had EIT designation. Sushant is interested in application of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) to optimize the complex and deep transportation problems with application of machine learning, deep learning, image processing and visualization.

In his free time, he loves to play and watch soccer. Additionally, he loves to read books, cook and enjoys hiking.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Public Relations from the University of Nebraska-Omaha, which has provided a solid foundation for her impactful work in the industry. Vicki’s blend of professional expertise and unwavering commitment makes her a valuable asset in the realm of commercial real estate marketing and business development.

Will has over 13 years of experience in providing traffic, parking, and transportation engineering and planning services throughout the State of Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia. He is responsible for designing and entitling private and public development projects. He is a senior project manager overseeing projects in Maryland and the neighboring jurisdictions. Will has been involved with public-private working groups in Montgomery County assisting with ongoing updates to transportation policy and technical guidelines. He has been involved in several ULI Technical Assistance Panels (TAPs) in Montgomery and Prince George Counties and serves on the Board of Directors for the Maryland Society of Engineers (MDSPE). Will has been qualified as an expert witness in numerous jurisdictions throughout Maryland as well as Virginia, Indiana and the District of Columbia.

Will lives in Bethesda, Maryland with his family and is a dedicated road cyclist, finding joy and challenge in every mile.

Salem is a recent Virginia Tech graduate and Northern Virginia native working out of the DC office. She has a year of experience working on multimodal transportation studies, field data collection and analyses, and traffic demand analyses throughout DC as well as parts of Maryland and Northern Virginia. She is a member of the DC Chapter of Young Professionals in Transportation.

Salem’s interests lie in the socioeconomic and environmental benefits of multimodal transportation planning and engineering. Outside of work, you can find her curating playlists, walking around DC, and buying books she forgets to read.
