Fred Gorove, one of the firm’s founders, its long-time President, and a colleague and friend to many in our industry, passed away in May 2017. GoroveSlade owes an unpayable debt to Fred for shaping its culture – one that is focused on client service, shared success, and personal growth.
Fred was a fantastic role model when it came to focusing on the growth of others, which was also a benefit to the growth of the firm and the profession. Thanks to Fred, this is ingrained in the Gorove Slade culture. In keeping with this tradition, we teamed with the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) to honor him by establishing the Frederick Gorove Memorial Scholarship Fund. The scholarship will provide funds annually to a deserving candidate to fully cover tuition in ITE’s Leadership Program.
The scholarship is overseen by the Legacy Program Committee which is made up of ITE leadership, including ITE Past-Presidents. If you are interested in helping us honor Fred through the scholarship, your contribution can be made payable to “The Institute of Transportation Engineers” and should include a notation that the funds are being directed to the “ITE Legacy Program – Frederick Gorove Memorial Scholarship Fund.”
